David's Tea Relaxed Collection

Hello all you wonderful people!

Where my tea lovers at? :)

David's Tea has literally been my best friend for the past few months. For those of you who don't know, David's Tea is a Canadian tea store that sells a variety of loose leaf teas. They do have a few stores in the U.S. but they also sell their teas online to Canada and the U.S. Whenever I'm at the mall, I always stop in and sample a new tea. Recently, I went in and bought their Relaxed Collection.

Music Monday | Midnight Memories

Hello awesome people! This Music Monday we will be featuring One Direction’s highly anticipated third album, “Midnight Memories”.

Now, it’s no secret that Sonia and I are extremely extremely extremely enamoured with this band. However, this is not the only reason we’ve decided to feature them this week. After the release of this album, tons of people that wouldn’t have come within ten feet of a One Direction CD expressed their genuine appreciation for the boys’ new sound. So if One Direction isn't your thing, give em a chance! They're definitely going to surprise you.

Music Monday | Ariana Grande

Hi! Welcome to Music Monday! This week, our feature artist is the mind blowing-ly talented Ariana Grande.

Kay seriously, words can’t express how much we love this girl. We started watching Victorious (don’t judge) about a year ago, so we first saw her as the not-so-bright red headed cutie, Cat Valentine.  Shortly after, we heard her first single, Put Your Hearts Up, and I wasn’t sold. We thought she was another “Nick Kid” who got a record deal. So I went on her YouTube account to get a better idea of her vocal talent and let me tell you, I have never in my life eaten my words so quickly. The girl has pipes like you wouldn’t believe. Her cover of Mariah Carey’s Emotions was on repeat for weeks. Needless to say, I felt uber stupid...

New Fall Shows

Hi loves!

Have I ever mentioned that school is super annoying? Well it is. It's also a tad stressful and tiring at times. One way I like to unwind after a long day of classes and assignments is catching up on my favourite shows. Some new shows started this fall and I decided to give them a try so I can have some new story lines to fill my otherwise boring week. Explaining the concepts of shows is a lot easier to do in person, so try to follow along and I'll try my best to be clear, concise and to make sense.

REIGN
Set in the 1500s, "Reign" follows the life of Mary, the soon to be Queen of Scotland. To form an alliance between Scotland and France, Mary and Francis, the Prince of France, have been arranged to get married. Mary is then sent to France, with her friends as company, but things soon start to get complicated. There are people who don't want her to be married to Francis, and even those who want to harm her. During these hard times, she finds herself attracted to the half-brother of her soon to be husband, who also seems to return her feelings. The Queen of France is overlooking everything, trying to get her way and there is an unknown presence in the castle working against her. With death threats, sabotage, mistresses, seers and strange allies, the castle is becoming stranger each day. In addition to everything happening with the Royals in the castle, there's something strange and possibly magical going on in the forest behind the castle, making things even more interesting for the citizens of the kingdom.

The Best Chicken Burgers You Will Ever Make

Heeeeey guys!

I know you all know how to make burgers, but honestly you haven't had chicken burgers until you have tried Janet and Greta's Chicken Burgers. They are chicken with fire-roasted vegetables and it tastes amazing! They are healthy, full of flavour and so delicious! All you need to do is bake it for 20 minutes and you're ready to go! If you're not a fan of eating burgers, they also taste really great cut up and put into a wrap. My suggestion to make your burger even better? Add jalapeƱo havarti cheese! I'm also a huge fan of BBQ sauce on my burgers, tastes soooo good :)

Current hair care must haves!

Hey lovelies! Today I wanted to give you a little update on the hair care products that I've been using lately that I JUST CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT! It should be noted that I don't use all of these everyday, but I'll explain when and why I use them under every post! :)

With the amount of HEAT people use on their hair these day, you MUST MUST MUST have a product for Climate Control!! This is the Climate Control Heat & Humidity Gel by OUIDAD. I actually got this product as a gift from Sephora (you know when you have a certain amount of points or whatever..lol). It's great because it works as a protectant but also as an anti-frizz! It's awesome to put it in when your hair is wet because it makes such a difference as you dry!

Restaurant Review: MoRoCo

Hello! I recently hung out for the day in downtown Toronto with my friends, and my best friend took us to a boutique in Yorkville that she’s been ranting about for forever. She’s obsessed with macarons (a “cookie sandwhich” that usually has jam or buttercream in it), and this is one of her favourite places so we stopped by for a treat!

The boutique is called “MoRoCo”, located on 99 Yorkville Ave. I loved it from the minute we walked in! The dĆ©cor was to die for, and the macarons were absolutely delish. We tried the raspberry, chocolate, lavender, caramel, & pistachio flavours, but their chocolate one was by far my favourite (clichĆ© I know).

Sample Showdown!

Hey loves! I've gotten through some samples in the last little bit so I thought I'd give my thoughts on them. This isn't a full review, just some short thoughts on each. I either got these at a drugstore, in a magazine or in the mail! So I didn't have to spend much to get them and it was totally worth it because I may actually buy some of them! ENJOY!

Book Review: Archangel's Kiss

This review is going to be about Archangel's Kiss, book 2 is Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter series.

Blurb at the back of the book:
"Vampire hunter Elena Deveraux wakes from a year-long coma to find herself changed—an angel with wings the colours of midnight and dawn—but her fragile body needs time to heal before she can take flight. Her lover, the stunningly dangerous archangel, Raphael, is used to being in control—especially when it comes to the woman he considers his own. But Elena has never done well with authority.

They've barely begun to understand each other when Raphael receives an invitation to a ball from the archangel, Lijuan. To refuse would be a sign of fatal weakness, so Raphael must ready Elena for the flight to Beijing—and to the nightmare that awaits them there. Ancient and without conscience, Lijuan holds a power that lies with the dead. And she has organized the most perfect and most vicious of welcomes for Elena." http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6582637-archangel-s-kiss.

Before I get into the review I am going to start off by saying that you have to read the first book in this series in order to really understand what is going on in this book and not be confused.

Restaurant Review: Lunch Box

Hey everyone! I know it's been a WHILE, and I apologize, school's been killin' me! I went to this super cute restaurant the other day and I thought they totally deserved a blog post because it was just that good!

I went to lunchbox @ 1731 Bloor St. West, yesterday, and I was so please with my experience! First, I love the branding of this restaurant. It's cute, consumer friendly and simple. It totally gives you the "school" feel, with the chalkboard look of the menus and their little details like lunch boxes in their display case!

Music Monday | The Civil Wars

Hi Guys! The latter end of last year and the beginning of this year I’ve gotten more into folk and country music. So for this Music Monday, I wanted to share the album “Barton Hollow” by a band called The Civil Wars with you!

Songwriters Joy Williams and John Paul White make up this folk band, and use hauntingly beautiful melodies and amazing harmonies in every song on the album. I first took notice of this band when their song “Poison & Wine” was featured in the movie “Something Borrowed”. After listening to the song over and over, I decided to take a look at some of their others, and I was hooked. The combination of their voices and the raw nature of their songs was all I needed.

I really love the fact that all I can hear are their two voices, and the minimal instruments they use. There is no feeling of over production, or too much going on. It has a very natural, relaxing, slow-paced feeling. My favourites off the album are definitely “I’ve Got This Friend”, “Barton Hollow”, which are two of the more “upbeat” tracks. “Barton Hollow” makes me feel like I’m in a really bad-ass, gritty, western movie, and “I’ve Got This Friend” makes me feel like I’m sitting on a front porch in the country side. Two of my other favourites are “Poison & Wine” and “The Girl With The Red Balloon”, which are two really slow, haunting tracks. If I’m caught in the right mood, “Poison & Wine” can usually get a tear or two outta me… LOL

If you’re into the folk/country genre, or you’re looking to get into something new, check this band out!

If you do, tell us what you think, or let us know what bands or artists you’re listening to in the comment box below!

Music Monday | The 20/20 Experience

Hello Loves!
So this is the first installment of Music Mondays! This is a segment we’ll be doing periodically about some new (or old!) music we’re currently listening to. Hopefully you’ll fall in love with some new artists, or rediscover past obsessions!

Speaking of past obsessions, this year JT announced that he’d be releasing a new album and the 90’s girl in every one of us had our dreams revived (after having them crushed when he announced he was married…). Everyone had been waiting so long for him to return to music, wondering if he ever would, and surely enough he did. And he did it all while looking super dapper might I add:

Although I’m sure we could all run a blog about how hot JT is, this IS about the album. So as if the news of his new album, and him performing just about everywhere from the Grammy’s to SNL, wasn’t enough, he revealed on March 11th that the album, "The 20/20 Experience", would be available to stream FOR FREE on iTunes until it’s release. Streaming of the whole album. For Free. Crazy right? So obviously me in all my fangirl glory quickly clicked the link, and I’ve been listening constantly since.

I will say, some of the songs took some getting used to, and some I still skip over. But others like “Mirrors” and “Blue Ocean Floor”, which happen to be my two absolute favourites, I loved from the first listen. “Blue Ocean Floor” is my go to song when I need to be calm, quiet and relaxed. The way the song makes you feel like you’re floating under the calm ocean waters is unreal. Two of my other favourites are “Pusher Love” and “Strawberry Bubble Gum”.

The whole album has the “old school crooner” feel that has also been reflected in his new look, but still has the “JT&Timbaland” signature sound.

If you haven’t checked the album out yet, you can FOR FREE on the iTunes store. Just search Justin Timberlake! And you can also purchase the album when it’s released on March 19th!

His smooth music and beautiful falsetto will never get old, and I (like everyone else on earth) am so incredibly happy that our main man is back in the spotlight.

What do you think of the new album? Tell us in the comment box below!

Book Review - Nalini Singh (Guild Hunter Series)

I am going to be starting off my book reviews by talking about my favourite authors and series and their books. The first author is Nalini Singh and her Guild Hunter series. The first book in that series is called Angels' Blood, the authors blurb from the back of the book is as follows:

"Vampire hunter Elena Deveraux knows she is the best- but she does not know if even she is good enough for this job. Hired by the dangerously beautiful archangel Raphael, a being so lethal that no mortal wants his attention, Elena knows failure is not an option—even if the task is impossible. Because this time, it's not a wayward vamp she has to track. It's an archangel gone bad. The job will put Elena in the midst of a killing spree like no other—and pull her to the razor's edge of passion. Even if the hunt does not destroy her, succumbing to Raphael’s seductive touch just might. For when archangels play, mortals break."
