Last week, before we went to the Parloque opening, we went to a restaurant called Ravi Soups. There are three locations in Toronto and we visited the one on Queen Street.
Serving soups, salads and wraps, you will be leaving with a full and happy stomach :)
When you first walk in, the place looks a little small, however there is more seating available in the back. It's actually a cute little place to meet up with a friend for lunch. The menu behind the counter is on a chalkboard which is an idea that, for those of you who don't know, I'm completely in love with. Chalkboard signs are one of my favourite things :)
Once you order, you can seat yourself and they will bring your food to your table. For $5, you can get their Ravislaw, which we unfortunately didn't get to try this time around. The soups and wraps are $9-$10 each and it's an additional $2 if you want to make it a combo. Combos include a soup and salad, salad and wrap, or wrap and soup. Also, all of the soups are served with a cheddar cheese biscuit with red pepper jelly.
We ordered a Porcini Mushroom Wild Rice Bisque that came with the cheddar cheese biscuit and the Curried Lamb Wrap. To start, if you get the soup alone, it is fairly large. If you're not extremely hungry, you could definitely split it. However, when you order the soup as a part of a combo, it is a smaller size.
Personally, I love anything with mushrooms so I may be a little bias, but the soup was actually really good. It was quite tasty and complimented the wrap nicely. The biscuit was amazing, so nice and light. It's a great side for the soup to either dip in or eat separately.
The wrap was delicious, full of flavour and had lots of lamb and veggies. It was a little bit spicy, but not overwhelming. If you can't handle spicy foods, I wouldn't recommend starting with the wrap. Or you could bring a friend with you and taste test it ! :)
Overall, the service was good, the food came fairly quickly and the food was great! Everything is reasonably priced and the food is well portioned so it is worth every penny. I definitely want to come back and try some other dishes !
