Hey dolls! Today I went to an awesome event put out by Nike in Oxford Circus. I knew that they were running the same type of events in Toronto a couple months ago, but I never got the chance to go. I was really excited when my friend mentioned to me they were doing it in London this week!
Nike Training Club Week is a week where all different types of fitness classes are offered by Nike and taught by experts in their field. They're usually held in different locations of whichever city it's offered in, and best of all they're free! They not only offer classes, but also free swag and healthy food! I don't know how it could be any better!?

Workout Wednesday | Workout tips for beginners!
Hi guys! I'd like to start off this post by saying I am NOT AT ALL an expert on working out, but I've learned some tips over the last 2 years that helped me A LOT in the gym. Because of my career, I've been trying to become someone who lives a much healthier lifestyle, and that includes trying to become someone who works out very frequently. I'm not exactly there yet, but I'm slowly getting there - and I've learned some really valuable tips along the way that I thought I would share. Maybe it'll help anyone else out there trying to become more serious with their fitness!
After getting a trainer, I really began to "get it", if you will. So the majority of my tips are from my time working out with her, but also what I learned from my friends who work out DAILY and from numerous fitness blogs and such. These tips are probably going to sound super simple and not at all specific, but that's because they're for people like me; beginners who need that push to help get them in the right direction and make their transition into serious fitness that much easier! Here goes...
1. BE CONSISTENT
This is the tip I'm still struggling with, I'm not consistent at all. But truly it's the most important. I know for my body, if I haven't worked out for even 2 days, I start to see it regress backwards. Your muscles need consistency to see continuous change and progress! In other words, you can't half-ass it. You can't workout once a week and expect to see massive differences, it's a lifestyle. That being said though, everyone works at their own pace, so maybe one workout a week is where you start. But just remember it's about making it a lifestyle and making your health a priority. If you want to see progress, most people incorporate AT THE LEAST 2-3 workouts a week!

Workout Wednesday | Alternatives to crunches and sit-ups!
Hey everyone! I found some cool alternatives to regular crunches and sit-ups that work your abs just as hard! If you're like me, when I first started working out I had no idea what to do in the gym. Then after getting a personal trainer and doing a lot of research I found out the best way to workout for my body and so many variations of different exercises!
For me, my stomach is one of my problem areas. I want to look more toned and lean. These exercises help with that!
NOTE: Before you start doing exercises make sure you warm up and do at least 15-20 minutes of cardio to get your heart rate up!

Recipe | Easy Spinach Salad
As easy as it is to say, "I eat healthy food", it's actually (at least in my experience) pretty difficult to be creative, and make ACTUAL healthy for that tastes good. The more and workout and steer myself away from carbs and sugar, I started to find that there a number of different ways you could make a really yummy and healthy salad.
I saw some great healthy salads on Pinterest, Tumblr and Instagram and I realized as long as certain flavours don't clash, you can pretty much mix anything raw or cooked into your salad and it'll taste pretty darn good.
So, I thought I'd share this one simple recipe that I concocted whilst I was traveling, and I ended up loving it and making it numerous times. It tasted great and I made sure it was healthy.
TIP: Try to keep all of the ingredients in your salad as raw and uncooked as possible, even when you slightly steam your vegetables they immediately start to lose enzymes and nutritional value, so keep that in mind!

DIY | LIP SCRUB!
Hey dolls! Over here in England, I've noticed that my lips get really dry, really fast and they start to burn and get discoloured! I started to google lip scrubs and such, and then I found that in stead of buying one it's so easy to make one for less than $4!

Little things you can do to be healthier..
I've noticed little tips and tricks I've heard from people over the last little while, of ways that you can be healthier by changing small things about your lifestyle. So before I forget I figured I should share them with you all!
10 things I try to remind myself:
1. DRINK WATER ONLY - Stop ordering pop when you go to restaurants and ask for some water! Even fruit juices have a lot of sugar in them most of the time, so ensure you're getting your 8 glasses of water a day!
2. WALK MORE - If you're gong somewhere that is seriously only a 10 min walk away, DON'T DRIVE YOU LAZYBUM, WALK! Adding more physical activity in your day does wonders to keep you from getting tired fast. The more active you are now, the more active you'll be ABLE to be later on in life. (PS. Use the stairs too, not the elevator!)
3. EAT HEALTHY SNACKS - Instead of picking up pringles or chocolate, eat crackers and cheese or veggies and dip! They are so much healthier for you, and they can help you ensure you're getting your daily doses of veggies or carbs!
4. EAT SMALLER PORTIONS - Having 5 or 6 smaller meals a day is actually healthier than having 3 big meals for the day. Try it!
5. STOP EATING OUT - Eating out once a week isn't a big deal, but every meal shouldn't be fast food or even restaurant food. Those foods usually have preservatives, are often fried in oil and tend to have lots of sugar! (Depending on what you're ordering of course). Eating home-cooked food is much healthier!
6. TAKE MULTIVITAMINS - My mum used to pound this into my head growing up, and I never listened to her, but now I really realize how important it is. Especially for girls. Taking a women's multivitamin can help with things like hair growth and estrogen levels. But even if you don't take a multivitamin, you can always take calcium, b12, iron pills - all important for staying alert and healthy! *You can get these all at a natural foods store.*
7. GET GOOD SLEEP - Your body is way more immune to sickness if it isn't rested. Sleeping well is also very important for brain functioning - your brain needs rest to work well! Also as a girl, changes in your sleep cycle can cause your menstrual cycle to be irregular. So be careful!
8. DO SMALL STRETCHES IN THE MORNING/BEFORE BED - This does wonders to wake you up, as well as help to exercise your muscles before you start your day, this way you're much less likely to have aches and pains, or pull something throughout the day!
9. BE POSITIVE - Happier are people are healthier people! It sounds crazy but it's true. Keep positive about tough situations. Negativity can put a lot of stress on the body and cause backaches, headaches, muscle pain, depression, loss of appetite..and a lot more. Don't worry, be happy!
10. DON'T EAT FOOD RIGHT BEFORE BED - It's hard, I know, especially when you're studying 'til 3:00AM, but there are lots of reasons this isn't good for you. Since you're obviously less active when you're sleeping, you're less likely to burn the calories you ate before you slept. So make sure you give yourself about 90 mins to digest your food properly before you go to bed!
I hope those tips can help you to stay a bit healthier in your day to day life! Again, I'm not perfect, I don't do these things everyday, but they are things I'm trying to implement every day - and they're EASY! So you should try too :) Hope you enjoyed this guys!
