Trending Thursday | The Thoughts Room

Hello! Welcome to this week's Trending Thursday! Today we're featuring a website & app that isn't exactly trending, but is one that I definitely think should be. I found it years ago, and recently rediscovered it in my bookmarks. It's called The Thoughts Room

Tech Tuesday - Focus: Life Gear by Trident

Hey everyone! I wanted to share with you all the awesome opportunity I got to be a Brand Ambassador for Trident's Focus: Life Gear project.

Now you may be thinking, that's kind of random - Trident putting on a fashion exhibit? And well the truth is, it is. How do chewing gum and clothing relate? in this day and age, people are getting s creative and companies are realizing that they need to do more innovative things since everyone has the same promotional capabilities through the internet.

Web Wednesdays | Instavideo or Vine?

I was one of those people who thought Vine would completely fail when Instagram Video started. But then someone reminded me, it’s not like Facebook failed when MySpace started to get similar features. It seems like, without knowing it, many outlets and mediums of social media are fulfilling certain purposes in their own unique ways.

I’m a huge social media nerd, and I tend to compartmentalize my life. Naturally, when Instagram Video came about I thought, “Oh crap! But I always keep images and video separate…what do I do now?”  I had tried other “video” type mediums before such as Keek, but they just didn’t suit me. I thought I would immediately fall in love with InstaVideo and fall off of Vine – but it didn’t work that way.

File Transfer Apps: Dropbox vs. Bump

Hi! So this isn’t new, but I thought I’d do a little post on two apps that make file transferring amazingly easy. Goodbye are the days where we’d have to email or “MSN” each other music, pictures or documents for a school project. Where we’d constantly need to be carrying around (or borrowing) USB’s. Apps like “Dropbox” and “Bump” are here to save the day.

Dropbox

Dropbox is available through the web, and an app on your computer as well as your phone. This means you can access your files from anywhere, at anytime, as long as you have one of these devices or access to the internet. It’s simple, you sign up on the website: dropbox.com, and begin sharing files! You can create folders for your personal use, or create folders to share between a friend or a group! The perfect thing about dropbox is that all of the files are uploaded automatically to all your devices (think iCloud). Whenever I take pictures on my phone, they’re automatically loaded to my computer. That was a big seller for me, because I absolutely dread uploading pictures to my computer manually. Who has time for that? LOL Although I have iCloud, I could never seem to get it working to push things such as a pictures and documents onto my devices. Dropbox was much, much easier to handle without having to “configure settings”. I dropbox everything, to everyone now. Thank you dropbox.

Current favourite apps!

Here are the apps I've been LOVIN' so far this year!

Instagram has gotta be my #1! I can't get away from this app I just love it so much, I mean it's like picture after picture - I could just look at it forever! I follow some awesome accounts on this thing so I use it like crazy!

I always love Shazam - it's the ultimate brilliant app that people in the 90s wished for!! It exists! I've found the names to so many songs on this thing I can't even tell you!

I've been obsessed with this game for like the last 3 months and I'm STILL obsessed! Who would have thought managing your own little tower would actually be so fun?!

Seriously this alarm saves my life everyday. Except for the days I choose to continuously press ignore..

Banking from your phone? I mean I literally pay all of my bills with this little thing. I couldn't ask for it to be any easier!

PicStitch is AMAZEBALLS because you can add an awesome coloured border to your pics, and everything is in line - nothing looks messy and the pics can all be seen!

I usually follow up picstitch with BOKEHFUL because you can add cute shapes in different colour gradients to your pics! It's so easy and looks so awesome, I even use it to edit photos for my blog sometimes! These apps go REALLY well with instagram!! :)

What are your fave apps lately?

xx
