Recipie | Monster Cookies

Hello lovelies! Our aunt is in town, so yesterday we embarked on a cookie-making mission and thought we’d share it with all of you!

Making Monster Cookies has been a family tradition for as long as I can remember. These cookies are not only delish, but are also pretty healthy (so you can afford to eat an extra one… or five).

SO, LET’S GET STARTED!

What you need:

·      Unsalted Butter
·      White Sugar
·      Brown Sugar
·      Eggs
·      Vanilla Extract
·      Honey
·      Baking Soda
·      Smooth Peanut Butter
·      Large Flake Oatmeal (not quick oats)
·      Chocolate Chips
·      M&M’s
·      Measuring Cups
·      Large Metal Bowl
·      Measuring Spoons
·      Wooden/Pot Spoon
·      Hand Blender

1.     Before you begin, preheat your oven to 300°F.
2.     Blend 1 pound of unsalted butter, 4 Cups of white sugar & 4 Cups of brown sugar into your large metal bowl.
3.     Crack 12 eggs into the bowl and blend using a hand blender.

4.     Once mixed, add 3 pounds of smooth peanut butter and blend mixture again.
5.     In separate bowl, pour 18 cups of large flake oatmeal and add 8 teaspoons of baking soda.
6.     Stir the oatmeal into your blended mixture spoon by spoon and blend with the hand blender. Once the mixture becomes too tough, begin to stir with a spoon.
7.     Finally, stir in 1 pound of chocolate chips. We know it’s hard, but don’t add too much in or the mixture will break apart when you start to roll!

Tip : If you find the mixture is too soft, place in the fridge for ½ to 1 hour until it becomes easy to roll in your hands.

8.     Once the mixture is stirred well, scoop some into your hands and begin to roll into balls and place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
9.     After all of your mixture is rolled, place one M&M on top of each ball.
10. Place in the oven for 10 minutes. And you’re done!

One batch makes 200-300 cookies, depending on how big you make em, and takes about 3 ½- 4 hours. Keep in mind we make them for 23 people! So be sure to cut the batch to however many you want to make!

Pour a tall glass of milk and enjoy your cookies !
