Tech Tuesday | iRig

Hello lovelies! Welcome to Tech Tuesday! This week, we're featuring a guitar interface adapter called "iRig". It allows you to connect your guitar to any iOS device, which is super cool! It costs around $30-$40. I use it on my phone, through the AmpliTube app by IK Multimedia, but you can also use it through the Garage Band app on your Mac.

Note: To use this adapter, you'll need to make sure you Mac is compatible by going into "About this Mac", then clicking "System Report". Click "Audio", and check that "External Microphone/iPhone Headset" is included in the features. If it is, you're good to go!

You just need the iRig, an amp cord, your computer/phone, headphones and your guitar!

Take the amp cord and plug it into the guitar input. It'll have a little guitar symbol above it.
Then plug the cord into your guitar's input.
Next, plug your headphones into the audio jack. It'll have a little headphone symbol near it.

Next, plug the adapter into the audio input of your phone/computer & open the app you're using. If this is the first time you're using it you'll need to go into the audio settings of your device and switch the audio port to sound input.

Now you're ready to get playing! On the apps you can play around with the sound until you find one you like. You can opt for a grungy guitar output, or go for a more clean sound. Up to you! There are so many knobs and pedals to play around with. It's great to get your guitar into a digital format at home. whether it's just to play around, or for recording purposes!

Have fun rocking out! Let us know if you try it out and how you like it in the comments below!
