Tech | Tile

Hey y'all! It's Tech Tuesday! Last week I was surfing the web and stumbled upon an ad on the side (it wasn't a virus LOL) that said "For the people in your life who are always losing their keys". Intrigued, I clicked and it took me to this website for something called "Tile".

THIS IS WHAT WE'VE ALL BEEN BEGGING FOR OUR WHOLE LIVES. It's basically a little square you can attach to any object you want: your keys, remote, purse, ipod, laptop, sister... anything you don't want to lose (this is where you feel special, Sonia).

How It Works
The tile emits a bluetooth signal that is registered in the app on your phone. Should you ever lose one of these items, your phone will tell you the last place it received the signal. So now you will always have an answer to the age old question: "Where was the last place you saw it?".

COOL THINGS

• What's even cooler is that while looking for your thing, the circle on your phone will start filling in the closer you get to the object. Basically a real-life, useful version of "Hot & Cold". 
• Also, you can share tiles with everyone thanks to their cloud based system, making it great for stuff you share with your family. 
• You can log in on anyone's iPhone to look for your stuff. You're not limited to having your phone with you in order to find whatever it is you lost
• You can prompt the tile to play it's little tune if you want an audible guide
• AND, if something gets stolen you can send out a signal and it will go to EVERYONES tile account. If their phone comes within range of your item, where ever it is, a signal will be sent back to you so you'll know where to look. HOW AWESOME IS THAT. It's like having your own search party at all times...

• The tiles last for a year without any maintenance, then Tile will help you replace the ones you have with new models
• Best of all, it's not even expensive. I thought it'd be super pricey considering it's an actual live saver. But you can get tile for $25. TWENTY-FIVE BUCKS. And you save more the more tiles you buy
• It's currently only available for iPhone 4S and up running iOS7/8
• It's coming to Android soon
• Not available for Windows devices as of yet 

THIS IS THE COOLEST THING . How many times when we were younger did we say "I wish there was something you could put on your _____ that would just tell you where it was".
