Welcome to Day 9 of our 12 Days of Christmas series! With Christmas right around the corner, we thought we would share with you some fun activities we used to do around the holidays with our family, young and old :)

Christmas Cookie Decorating Contest

Decorating cookies is always fun with everyone together. With some christmas cookie cutters and some colourful icing, you can get the entire family involved. Not only is this fun but they're also delicious ! Everyone would decide on a winner and they would get a cute little prize.

Gingerbread House

Just like cookie decorating, building a gingerbread house is just as fun and is edible ! What could be better ?  This could get a little messier than the cookies but it's worth it :) I just like the fact that you can use a variety of candies to make your masterpiece. 

Singing Christmas Carols

I loved sitting with everyone and singing Christmas carols. A lot more enjoyable for younger kids but it is a fun activity. It's always nice to hear everyone sing loud and off key all together and now that we're older, singing with a nice glass of wine LOL :) 

Making S'mores

This one is definitely gonna make a mess - but come on, melted chocolate and marsh mellows ? totally worth it. I'm so happy our house has an old fireplace, although if you don't have one, putting the graham crackers, marsh mellows and chocolate on a baking tray and putting it in the oven for a few minutes will work as well. It's also a bit faster :) 

Making Eggnog

Now we've never tried eggnog before and I'm super excited to make it this year ! Everyone talks about this and I feel like we're missing out on some Christmas specialty. Hopefully it tastes as good as I hope ! I'm ready to kick back and relax with some eggnog, music and my family :)
